Quarx began in the Baton Rouge area, playing venues such as the Varsity Theater and the Spanish Moon, and stemmed from the songwriting of Alaric Fricke (rhythm guitar, vocals) in 2017. Jonathan Zeringue (bass) came in to the picture shortly thereafter, followed by Tom Periou (drums, vocals) and Keagan Soto (Lead Guitar). Each member of the group comes from a variety of musical interests, background, and experience. The group focused on creating chemistry between each other and blending the influences of Funk, Punk, Progressive Rock, Psychedelic Rock, Blues, Jazz, and Rock to produce what the group likes to call "Wholesale Rock-n-Roll."
