Freddie Blue & the Friendship Circle Band
Freddie Blue is a New Orleans baritone vocalist and rhythm guitarist who has been in the music industry for over 43 years. His diverse career has had him touring with the world's biggest rock bands in a wide range of roles and singing Mavis Staples and the Neville Brothers. Freddie Blue formed the Friendship Circle Band in 2014. The bands debut EP Big River was released in spring of 2022. Freddie appeared at the 2022 French Quarter Festival and 2022 New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival as a guest vocalist with Paul Sanchez and The Rolling Road Show. The core band is a quartet that features Sam Colgate on drums, Bob Netcoh on Bass, and Johnny Vajner on electric violin & vocals. True to their name, most of their shows feature special guests from a talented pool of musicians and vocalist friends. It's also common for Friends to stop by gigs and join in for a few numbers. FBFCB blends their combined experience and multi-genre influences creating a sound we call New Orleans roots-rock, Americana with some Jamaican spice tossed in. You'll hear the influences of: The Grateful Dead, Jam Bands, New Orleans roots, Johnny Cash, Bob Marley, and the outlaw country movement. All sung from the heart and delivered with a smile.
