New Orleans (April 14, 2025) — French Quarter Festivals, Inc. is saddened by the tragic shooting that occurred on Sunday, April 13, near Iberville and Decatur Streets, which left at least four people injured. Our thoughts are with the victims, their families, and everyone affected by this senseless act of violence.
This was an isolated occurrence that took place after the festival had concluded for the weekend. One incident does not define our city, our people, or the beauty of this celebration.
We want to acknowledge the New Orleans Police Department’s swift response and continued efforts to keep our community safe. We stand with them and encourage anyone with information that could help their investigation to come forward.
We gathered this weekend to celebrate the music, food, and culture of New Orleans and the joyful spirit that filled the French Quarter throughout the festival. French Quarter Festivals, Inc. remains committed to celebrating the heart and soul of New Orleans.
