New Orleans  —French Quarter Festivals, Inc. (FQFI) announces the appointment of four new members to its Board of Directors: Katie Acuff, President & CEO of LSU Health Foundation New Orleans; Jeffrey Silverman, Partner at Laconia Capital Group; Washington Duke, musician, band leader, and recording artist; and Dr. Julie Morial, medical professional.

The new appointments come at a critical moment for nonprofit organizations nationwide, as cultural institutions navigate rising costs, shifting funding landscapes, and increased demand for community impact. Together, these leaders bring expertise in healthcare, finance, philanthropy, and the creative economy, key areas that will support FQFI’s efforts to diversify revenue streams and strengthen long-term sustainability while preserving free access to culture.

FQFI’s Board plays a critical role in guiding organizational strategy, governance, and financial health across its portfolio of free festivals, including French Quarter Festival, Satchmo SummerFest, and Holidays New Orleans Style/New Orleans Eve.

  • Katie Acuff brings deep experience in nonprofit leadership, fundraising, and strategic growth through her work at LSU Health Foundation New Orleans. 
  • Jeffrey Silverman, a Co-Founder and Partner at Laconia Capital Group brings over 20 years of experience building, scaling, and guiding companies across multiple sectors. 
  • Washington Duke, a respected New Orleans musician and band leader, ensures that artist voices remain central to organizational decision-making and sustainability efforts. 
  • Dr. Julie Morial, a native New Orleanian and physician-leader with more than 30 years of experience advancing equitable healthcare, with a career defined by community service, leadership, and public impact.
